Héctor Cruz / Alchemy of Meaning

Héctor Cruz is a Mexican artist specializing in the design and production of multimedia devices for performing arts, particularly dance, theater and interactive experiences. He has worked with image and interdisciplinary experimentation since 2000.

Member of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA 2020-2023), he has received the Metropolitan Theater Award for Best Video Design (2023), Best Work Award (2024) and the UN World Summit Award in Culture and Tourism (2020). He is currently responsible for the multimedia design for the Argentina Pavilion “Siestario” at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025.

He presented the Keynote “Live Remote Creation Theater” (LRCT) on telematic presence technologies and was part of the communication committee for PQ 2023 (Prague Quadrennial).

He is a Professional Photographer and holds a degree in Visual Communication. Multimedia art director of Landscape_artes escénicas since its foundation. He develops the concept “Alquemy of meaning,” integrating complex dramaturgies for scenic media.

His work links training and professionalization of artists in multimedia for stage, constantly exploring emerging technologies. He directs projects on live experiences and telematic creation.

He has collaborated with national and international artists and projects including: Red Isadora Latina, Wouter Van Looy, David Psalmon, Muziektheater Transparant, International Festival “OtrosTerritorios,” and Landscape_artes escénicas, among other distinguished creators.
